The DonJoy Drytex Lateral J Patella Support is a low-profile, non-hinged knee sleeve designed to help stabilise the kneecap for people with lateral patellofemoral issues, including patellar subluxation, lateral patellar tracking problems and chondromalacia. It uses a distinctive lateral "J" buttress rather than a rigid hinge, making it suitable for everyday activities and non-contact sport.
A tubular, J-shaped buttress runs alongside the lateral side of the knee and works together with adjustable lateral-to-medial straps to help guide patellar tracking and resist subluxation or dislocation. The sleeve is made from DonJoy's Drytex fabric, a patented nylon-core, polyester-Lycra material that is more breathable than traditional neoprene, making it a suitable option for warmer climates or for people with neoprene sensitivities. Because it contains no rigid hinge, the support is water-wearable and low-profile enough to sit comfortably under clothing.
