The Dictus Band is a lightweight ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) made by OAPL, designed to help manage flaccid foot drop where there is only minimal ankle instability. Latex bands run from a leather ankle cuff to the shoelaces, creating a dynamic dorsiflexion assist that helps lift the foot during the swing phase of walking.
The adjustable band positioning allows the level of dorsiflexion assistance to be fine-tuned, and the band is designed to help manage an equino-varus foot and ankle posture that can accompany foot drop.

Ideal For

How to Fit or Wear
The leather cuff is fitted around the lower leg/ankle and the latex bands are attached to the shoelaces using the steel hook or Monohook attachment, with tension adjusted to achieve a comfortable dorsiflexion lift through the swing phase of gait. Correct fitting and sizing should be confirmed by a treating clinician.
